Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Climate change has an inevitable impact on our planet. Of the variousimpact, its impact on agriculture is pronounced. The Indian farmers have a different group based on landholding capacity. Of these different groups, marginalized farmers who hold agricultural land 1 hectare ( 2.5 acres) contribute significantly. Furthermore, owing to poor socio-economic conditions, illiteracy, lack of technological know-how, financial constraint, an inadequate institutional mechanism to cope with climate change makes this group of farmers is vulnerable to climate change. The paucity of literature on climate change's impact on this group of marginalized farmers has motivated to carry out a pan-India study to ascertain the perception of climate change, its impacts on various crops, livestock, and willingness to adapt to climate change. The findings presented in this book will assist to understand the climate change impact on this group of farmers and further will pave the way for sustainable adaptation strategies to enhance their capacity and results in the transformation of subsistence farming to sustainable farming which results in a sustainable livelihood. 164 pp. Englisch.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -The climate change debate has received more global attention than most other environmental issues in the 21st century. Evidence of the impacts of climate change has sharpened the arguments and presented a sense of urgency in designing action plans for resource-constrained. Agriculture is a climate-sensitive sector that provides a livelihood for more than 60% of Indians. Climate change will have a pronounced effect on Indian agriculture and particularly on marginalized farmers owing to their vulnerability. Therefore, now more than ever, robust and resilient adaptation and mitigating smart agricultural interventions are required. The agricultural response will be shaped by, but not limited to, a suite of integrated modern technologies, policies, finance, prepared institutions, and informed people, in particular, entrepreneurial youth, equipped with the knowledge, and capacity to tackle extreme events. This book on Climate-Smart Agriculture takes a holistic view and approach on this issue. It illustrates how one can realize the triple win of climate-smart agriculture: increasing food production while mitigating climate change in systems that are adapted to changing conditions. 224 pp. Englisch.…
