A new ranking method is proposed, based on considering the rock characteristics as indicators of quantitative assessment, and the grading system, by given points, allowing the rocks framing in admissibility classes. Applying this evaluation system allows determining the specific parameters of the rock quality requirements, namely the conformity and unconformity degrees, and more specifically the safety level that these rocks can provide if they are used in the construction field, either as aggregates or as construction materials. The proposed method represents an appropriate tool for assessment and verification of the requirements regarding the quality of rocks used in construction. The last part includes a general classification of analyzed magmatic rocks based on the geomechanical assessment model.

Particularly, the results of observations and in situ measurements performed in underground are presented, the correlation between the parameters that influence the stability of underground works, critical depth from which one can define the vertical behavior of the rock deformation, that is, limits the separation zone from the elastic behavior of the plastic behavior. A mathematical model was developed, which is based on the concept of entropy, a model that can analyze the stability of the pillars of any shape. 384 pp. Englisch.

Particularly, are presented the results of observations and in situ measurements performed in underground, the rheological results of studies conducted in the laboratory and the methodology to establish the rheological behavior models of the analyzed sedimentary rocks from Jiu Valley basin - Romania. Based on these results, it has been studying the mechanism of interaction rock - support taking into account the time. The geomechanical placement conditions of the main horizontal mining works, observations and in situ measurements well as results of their stability analysis showed that ensuring the reliability of main horizontal mining works should be achieved through imposed stability; that can be solved only by considering the time parameter, namely taking also into account the behavior of rocks in time. 548 pp. Englisch.
