Aggiungi al carrelloPaperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. In this early 20th century monograph, the author examines the metaphysical principles underpinning the ethical and political philosophies of Thomas Hill Green, a prominent figure in late 19th-century British idealism. The author argues that Green's ethics are intimately connected to his metaphysics. Hence, to properly understand Green's ethics, one must first grasp the metaphysical principles upon which they rest. Green's metaphysics is characterized by a rejection of the abstract particular and an embrace of the concrete universal. It suggests that unrelated particulars do not exist and that the properties of objects are actually relations to other objects. Thus, the real object, the object of knowledge, is limited, defined, and made up of relations. Greenâs careful examination of the nature of the individual offers a corrective to the abstract particularism that had led to skepticism in British philosophy. His insights remain significant, providing a philosophical foundation for understanding the unity and variety of experience. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Prima edizione
Hardcover. Condizione: Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: No Dustjacket as issued. First Edition. Some scuffing and general wear to covers. The first printing of the first publication of The Bench Rest Shooter's Association (scarce thus). With chapters on the history of the association, construction of the bench rest, technique, the .219 Donalson Wasp Cartridge, chambering a rifle barrel, bullet making, the biehler uniform-weight, conforming die, stocking and bedding, types of rifles, targets and sights, conducting a rifle match, and more. "Today we know such a firearm as a bench rest rifle. Starting with informal activities by the Puget Sound Snipers Congress in 1944, on the west coast, and some matches in Machias, Maine on the Atlantic side these varmint hunters and accuracy fanatics soon met at the Pine Tree Rifle Club in Johnstown, New York on Labor Day weekend of 1947. By the end of the weekend the assembled men had elected officers and the National Bench Rest Shooters Association was born. Harvey Donaldson, Townsend Whelen, Sam Clark, Ray Biehler, Al Marciante, Warren Page, and Lucian Cary were some of the legendary firearms experimenters who laid the foundation for the development of bench rest competition as it is known today".
