Crisply bound, black cloth over boards, sharp and distinct gilt lettering to spine, quite fine. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, moderate edge-wear, a short, closed tear to upper front edge, scuffing at spine bottom, else fully intact and not price-clipped. An apparent later printing of the First Edition, but not so stated. Myth, Scandal, and History is a fine introduction to the study of ancient Greece and the infamous Mycenaean diary of Heinrich Schliemann including an apparent First Edition of his remarkable account of discover. Contributions by him, by the two editors and by Wolfgang Schindler and Hartmut Dohl. Many, many score black-and-white illustrations, symbols and photographs, both hors-texte and as full-page reproductions. Volume contains scholarly apparatus in the form of, e.g., notes, index, and bibliography. [6], 7-273 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
