As such, "Inspector Imanishi Investigates" is one of a handful of thrillers which will also make you cry, without its being melodramatic at all. His single greatest novel is, indisputably, "Tokyo Express", which can only be described with one word: Perfect. "Inspector Imanishi Investigates" ranks as its close second greatest.
