Laid in is a May, 1990 Typed Letter Signed from poet and mystery author Stephen Dobyns to Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Donald Justice, sending the typescript along on behalf of Bátki, "who talks about you with constant praise. ." Dobyns writes that it is a revised edition of "his original fifty or so translations," with about 100 additional poems. (We presume the "original fifty or so" refers to Bátki's *Attila József: Selected Poems and Text*, published by Carcanet Press in England in 1973 and, in collaboration with the University of Iowa Press, in America in 1976.) Dobyns writes that he finds the work "marvelous as poems and translations." (It also appears from the letter that Dobyns made these copies himself.) Dobyns believes that Iowa still has the earlier edition in print, and complications from this could perhaps be a reason that the next collection of Jozsef's work translated by Bátki wasn't published until 1997 (*Winter Night: Selected Poems*, published Oberlin College Press). Dobyns also writes a bit about himself, noting the upcoming publication of *Saratoga Hexameter* and *Body Traffic*, a book of poems. An uncommon early edition of a collection by one of Hungary's most famous 20th Century poets, with a nice association, and possibly containing unpublished translations by Bátki.…
