Leonard was founded in 1958. Two years later, Daniel Tribouillard, Chif Executive Director, at that time, invented a new printing technique for pullovers named Fully-Fashion. Leonard took out a patent for this technique which allows to knit with a continuous print. In 1983, Japan asked him to design a line of kimonos. For the first time in 2642 years, since the birth of the Japanese kimono, a Westerner has the right to penetrate the secret of making traditional kimonos.
