The collapse of the Soviet Union gave a renewed impulse to economic interactions at the expense of political and strategic preoccupations. Inter regional co operation reduces economic and social fragmentation created by national frontiers and hence facilitates integrated development of the participating states. In Africa as in other parts of the world regional co operation is a major factor in internal and international politics. This book focuses on the regional co operation efforts in the three continents of the world viz. Africa Asia and Europe and their role in promoting and strengthening African capacities. It examines various dimensions of regional co operation with focus on bilateral relations between a community of highly developed states (European Union) and a group of developing countries viz. COMESA (Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa). The latter part of the book focuses on inter regional co operation between South Asian countries particularly India and COMESA. These two regions of the world share a common colonial legacy and are striving to improve the socio economic conditions of their people. Inter regional cooperation and integration is a vital necessity in a world witnessing trade liberalisation foreign investments and reduced role of governments in economic affairs. 376 pp.…

Hardcover. Condizione: New. This book focuses on the emerging contours of India-Vietnam relations in the backdrop of the enduring partnership between the two countries which has progressed and matured over the years. Though the diplomatic relations between these two countries is 46 years old, but the relationship between India and Vietnam goes beyond this symbolic gesture of numbers. The historical, cultural and civilisational ties are profound. Internal synergies between India and Vietnam have played a significant role in bringing the two countries on the same page, building upon mutual trust and cooperation over the years. Given the cultural-religious linkages, based on their closer association with the historical kingdoms and the impact of Buddhist philosophy to the anti-imperialist struggle during the colonial rule and foreign intervention during the Second World War and thereafter, both the countries have developed closer ties and a shared destiny based on a shared world view. With this background, the book explores the emerging horizons in India-Vietnam relations and endeavours to look into the multi-dimensional nature of this partnership. Under the changing geo-strategic paradigm and the forces shaping the environment and the foreign policy orientations vis-à-vis the `Great Powers' in the region, their mutual engagement is a critical area of concern. In this context, the book seeks to undertake a comprehensive assessment of the relationship with one of India`s most significant strategic partners in Southeast Asia Vietnam - in the changing geo-politics of the region. Hardcover. Condizione: New. Integral Humanism, as a philosophical and political concept, finds expression in the works of thinkers from diverse cultural and ideological backgrounds. This book aims to compare the integral humanism articulated by Deendayal Upadhyay, a prominent figure in Indian political thought, and Jacques Maritain, a French Catholic philosopher. Despite the contextual and cultural differences between their perspectives, both thinkers share a commitment to the holistic development of human beings within the framework of a fair and balanced society. The comparative analysis of Integral Humanism as articulated by Upadhyay and Maritain reveals the universality of certain principles despite the cultural and religious diversity of their contexts offering valuable insights into the promotion of human dignity, ethical governance, and the integration of material and spiritual dimensions in the pursuit of a just social order. In this book, the contributors provide diverse perspective and offer deep insight into the ideas of Deendayal Upadhyay and Jacques Maritain who based on their shared values continue to inspire and guide humanity towards a more integral and harmonious future.…
