Based on a story by Niven Busch, this lavish period piece film relates the story of the OÕLeary family and the events leading up to the Chicago fire of 1871. The film was directed by Henry King, and starred Tyrone Power, Don Ameche, and Tom Brown, Alice Faye, and Alice Brady, who won an Oscar for her performance as Mrs. OÕLeary. Very good slightly used copy with some minor flaking to the gilt-stamping at the spine and a hint of edge wear without dust jacket.
