Die Haupt…sache im Ganzen war uns, den ursprünglichen, aber abgebrochenen, den innig tiefen, darum verborgenen Zusammenhang zwischen Vernunft und Offenbarung im lebendigen, an sich untheilbaren Menschengeiste herzustellen . Eben so weit entfernt, das Göttliche und Menschliche in der einen und ganzen Menschennatur zu confundiren, als völlig von einander abzusondern, eben so weit entfernt, Vernunft in Weissagung aufgehen, als Religion in Reflexion untergehen zu lassen, erkennen wir nur eine Weisheit, nämlich nur die göttliche für die wahre Weisheit, die menschliche Weisheit aber als eine von ihr untrennbare zweite Gestalt, oder als Offenbarung der ewigen Weisheit in der Zeit, und glauben in dieser Beziehung sagen zu können: Da ist ihr Fußtritt, Dort ihre Hütte!" (S. V u. IX f). In diesem Sinne verspricht Troxler zugleich, "die erst in unsern Tagen aus dem Zustand der Entwicklungsverwirrung der Philosophie hervorgetretene Frage nach ihrem wahren Grund und Anfang durch die Zurückführung derselben auf ihren Naturzustand, wie er jetzt auf ihrer gegenwärtigen Bildungshöhe gegeben ist, (zu) beantworten." Einen Ruf auf den durch Hegels Tod 1831 vakanten Lehrstuhl in Berlin hatte Troxler abgelehnt. Sprache: Deutsch.
