La metodología utilizada fue encuesta descriptiva. Como instrumentos de investigación se utilizaron cuestionarios, evidencia documental y observación participante experiencial. De los veinticinco participantes veinte (80%) respondieron al estudio. El estudio (hallazgos secundarios y primarios) mostró que los accidentes son principalmente el resultado de errores humanos y, por lo tanto, se pueden prevenir. Este estudio recomienda, entre otras cosas, la formación continua de los conductores del Departamento, el compromiso de la alta dirección con la prevención de accidentes, evitar conducir bajo los efectos del alcohol y poner a tierra todos los vehículos no aptos para circular. Un échantillon de vingt-cinq (64%) des trente-neuf fonctionnaires du Département… de l'irrigation de la région des Midlands de Gweru et de ses centres de terrain a été utilisé comme sujets de recherche. La méthodologie utilisée était une enquête descriptive. Des questionnaires, des preuves documentaires et l'observation expérientielle des participants ont été utilisés comme instruments de recherche. Sur les vingt-cinq participants, vingt (80%) ont répondu à l'étude. L'étude (résultats secondaires et primaires) a montré que les accidents sont principalement le résultat d'une erreur humaine et peuvent donc être évités. Cette étude recommande, entre autres, la formation continue des conducteurs du département, l'engagement de la direction dans la prévention des accidents, la prévention de la conduite sous l'influence de l'alcool et la mise à la terre de tous les véhicules non routiers.
