Likewise, these slaves practiced African religiosity despite the established Catholicism by Europeans in the Americas. Out of this blending of African religiosity with Christianity developed the Afro-American syncretism today known as ¿voodoö.Widely unknown is the immense influence of Congo religiosity on voodoo, due to slave imports from Congo to New Orleans. Accordingly, this leads to the question, which elements of Congolese religiosity originate within New Orleans Voodoo due to the transatlantic slave trade.…

Most strikingly is that previous work in this field focused predominantly on the scope of men within the justice system, while written pieces concerning female voices barely exist. Ultimately, this urges us to ask whether the Athenian justice system provided legal access for women and how they have been legally prosecuted at the time.…

Seine Ehefrau Magdalene von Prince folgte ihm 1896 in die Kolonie und wurde von Oberbefehlshaber Herrmann von Wissmann mit der Dokumentation ihres Alltags betraut.Dort verfasste sie in regelmäßigen Abständen Einträge über ihr Leben als Hausfrau und Offiziersgattin, Safaris durch das unerschlossene Kolonialgebiet Deutsch-Ostafrikas sowie Kriegserlebnissen und Versklavungen afrikanischer Ureinwohner in Folge des Wahehe Kriegs.
