Throughout the book, the author remarks on the substantial increase in the demand for revenue from the state fund, which primarily originates through the control boards. However, the state was able to meet and pay every demand, aided in part by the latitude given by Chapter 8 of the 1899 Session Laws. From estimates provided by the heads of departments, along with those fixed by standing laws, it will require an approximate $1,412,435.89 to cover the cost of maintaining the state government for the next biennium, while the total estimated revenue from all sources for the same period amounts to $1,406,704.90. This indicates an excess of demands over estimated revenues of $5,730.99.
