About the Editor K.J. Earlier positions that he held include Ministry of Commerce Chair Professor at Centre for Development Studies, Visiting Senior Fellow at RIS, New Delhi, Professor Jawaharlal Nehru University, IT Policy Consultant of UNESCAP for Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand and the Yunnan Province of China, Expert in Innovation studies at Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, China, selected under the program of the search for global experts. Gold Medallist of the Calicut University for MA in Economics, he earned M Phil and PhD degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University (CDS) and undertook post-doctoral research at Yale University as a Ford Foundation Fellow during the mid-1990s. He has published over 90 research papers and a number of policy-oriented reports, along with eight books published by six leading international publishers (Sage Publications, Oxford University Press, Palgrave Macmillan, Concept Publishing, Routledge, and Edward Elgar). P.V. Unnikrishnan is a highly accomplished professional with over 37 years of experience in academia, research, government, and consulting. With expertise in EC Engineering and e-Gov, he has played key roles in technology development, the development sector, and government operations. Notable achievements include spearheading critical projects in decentralised planning, administrative reforms, service delivery, and knowledge management. Dr. Unnikrishnan's groundbreaking work in e-governance for local self-government institutions earned him national and international recognition. He leads Kerala's transition to a Knowledge Economy and drives innovation promotion initiatives. His exceptional contributions have garnered numerous awards and positioned him as a leader in driving socio-economic growth and technological advancements in Kerala. Kiran Kumar Kakarlapudi is an Assistant Professor at Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation (GIFT), Thiruvananthapuram. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Centre for Development Studies (CDS) affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, Thiruvananthapuram. His research broadly focuses on applied development economics, emphasising issues relating to innovation and development at the micro and macro levels and labour market impacts of innovation and technology. He also researches finance and inclusion. He is also an adjunct faculty member of the Digital University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram. Previously, he worked at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN-ESCAP) and the Centre for Development Studies (CDS). His research appeared in various internationally reputed journals and edited volumes.
