Valev Uibopuu (1913-1997) töötas Eestis mitmetes ajalehtedes ja ajakirjandes ning kogus tuntust novellide ja lastejuttudega. 1943. aastal põgenes ta Soome ja 1944. aastal Rootsi. Ta õppis Helsingi ülikoolis ja lõpetas 1958. aastal Lundi ülikooli. Seal kaitses ta 1970. aastal võrdleva keeleteaduse alal ka filosoofiadoktori kraadi. Valev Uibopuu tuntumad romaanid on "Keegi ei kuule meid" (1948), "Neli tuld" (1951), "Janu" (1957), "Markuse muutumised" (1961). 9789916601440.
