Constituyen todos ellos el preludio de la exhaustiva catalogación, integrada por cerca de novecientas obras, muchas inéditas o poco conocidas, que se recogen en la segunda parte. Un repertorio perfectamente sistematizado que permite por primera vez conocer con gran detalle y absoluta fidelidad la figura de Sotomayor como pintor.
