Encuadernación de tapa blanda. Condizione: Muy bien. Folio. #1 Feb 1940 - #4 Mar 1940. Wrappers. The first issue of «Incontro» sees the light of day in Florence on 10 February 1940. Enrico Vallecchi figures both as managing director and as editor. The management and administration are in via dei Mille 72 in Florence. There is no real editorial staff but, as clarified in a brief intervention that appeared in the third issue, "it will be good to remember that the newspaper has no editor but only collaborators invited to a friendly meeting on these pages". It is a large format magazine (54x40 cm) whose pages vary between four and six. The fortnightly periodicity is maintained until the seventh issue, published on 10 May 1940. The remaining six issues will be released monthly, up to the thirteenth issue (dated December 1940) which marks the end of the adventure of this periodical. The magazine begins publishing six months after the definitive closure of "Campo di Marte", the other 'fortnightly of literary and artistic action' founded by Alfonso Gatto and Vasco Pratolini. This last magazine, which became the official organ of Florentine Hermeticism, had gathered, from August 1938 to August 1939, a large group of writers, critics and poets intending to carry out an autonomous cultural action with respect to the Fascist regime, in a field in which politics could not and should not interfere. The same collaborators of «Campo di Marte» (from Pratolini to Gatto, to Bo, to Luzi to Betocchi) will write on the pages of «Incontro», maintaining the same autonomy and the same authority. CodMK.…
