Aggiungi al carrelloMagazine. 32p., including covers, 5.5x8.5 inches, very good digest size magazine in stapled pictorial wraps. Cover story: "What of the Draft?" an editorial by Richard Conger. One, Inc., which took its name from Thomas Carlyle's statement that "A mystic bond of brotherhood makes all men one," was founded in LA in 1952 as a homoph…ile organization with connections to the Mattachine Society. As the first pro-gay journal of its kind, it serves as an important source for pre-Stonewall homophile studies. In 1954 the US Post Office declared it obscene, leading to a four-year legal battle (chronicled in its pages) that concluded with a favorable decision as part of Roth vs. United States. Aside from its articles covering topics ranging from the Beatniks and Gay marriage to homosexuality and national security, One Magazine also featured poetry and short fiction by numerous prominent authors.

"Shortly after its opening, the Museum of Contemporary Art planned an exhibition to record the trend, incipient then and pervasive tod…ay, toward conceptualization of art. This exhibition, scheduled for the spring of 1968 and abandoned because of technical difficulties, consisted of works in different media, conceived by artists in this country and Europe and executed in Chicago on their behalf. Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. During my fairly long life, beginning with recurrent spiritually important dreams as a pre-adolescent, I have had an entire life of so-called "paranormal" experiences. And after an incredible spiritual personal epiphany that brought me back to a belief in "God" (sans religion), the Great Sp…irit, the All, the Force, the One, the Ground of Being, etc., I entered a wonderful two year period of Psychic Development and Spiritual Unfoldment, after which instead of returning to my former work as a University Professor of Modern Literature & Creative Writing, I began my new Life's Work as a touring psychic counsellor, spiritual healer, speaker, seminar giver and radio & TV personality. The end of the very active phase of my career as a psychic & healing channel, I turned to writing full-time in 2005. Since then I have written more than a million finished words and soon will have approximately twenty books published with Amazon. The contents of this volume, "The Man Who Was NOT of this Earth & Other Psychic Stories and Essays", was first, and is still, printed as PsychicMind Blogger by Richard Lee Van Der Voort on Google. Mind/Spirit, I believe, makes up our total Reality, much as Plato outlined in general terms. And, as Plotinus suggested, the portion of our Self that incarnates remains rooted in the more Real World of Spirit, the World we return to after our drama for personal growth in the physical body and material world is complete, whether successful for our personal evolution or not. Reincarnation, I believe, is fact. And being a "particular" in the Ultimate Reality we call "God" suggests that our lives are also eternal. We, like our Source, have neither beginning nor end. Like "God", we always were and will always be a "particular" in "That". A distinct entity individualized, conscious and aware. But, while we work our way through any given incarnation, a drama in physical life and mind, we gradually grow toward our own personal godhood as the great Edgar Cayce, a full trance medium, explained during his great work during the 1930's. "Ye are gods in the making!" his psychic channel exclaimed. My stories and essays in this particular volume are suggestive of my mind-self-expanding life-experience during this current incarnation, this one-of-many lives in the physical, before returning Home once again to the more Real Reality, Spirit! Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. This is a volume of longer essays, though not overly long, for those of us who fancy ourselves "Thinkers". Those of us who like to consider, ponder, wonder after and analyze abstract concepts and ideas. They first appeared in my former website. Following my natural "intellectual bent", I to…ok my first degree, B.A. 1959, in Western Philosophy, at Michigan State University. Years later, I began having "psychic" experiences again, but this time they were very striking and at least in two situations, life-saving. That naturally led to self-study in Eastern Philosophies, the extra-rational and non-logical in the areas of the Esoteric and Metaphysical. And the Psychic, Mystical and Spiritual. I also read at certain Ancient Indian texts such as Vedanta, and the Vedas that contain insights regarding such concepts as reincarnation, and the innate psychology of incarnating individuals. The current volume, entitled EXISTENTIAL ALONENESS VS ANXIETY LONELINESS, based on a wonderful short book by Clark Moustakas, contains a wide range of topics or notions that tease the minds of certain kinds of thinkers, those of us who enjoy abstract thinking, and finding new approaches to conventional thought. And yet, such notions, ideas, themes and topics are those that necessarily underlie our more common, pragmatic values, attitudes and (tentative) beliefs that act as anchors or underlie our philosophical thoughts. By probing such concepts, by questioning that which is too often taken for granted, it is my belief that we may deepen our thinking and gain new and fresh insights into our conventional thinking. Given these intents and purposes, my hope is that readers will be motivated to explore ideas on at least a somewhat deeper level or from a different angle. This item is printed on demand.
