It tells the story of Lina Ashley who sells out her holdings on the dry prairies and ventures into the bush of northern Alberta - near Wanderin River - where a more secure living can be taken from the land. Dorothy Livesay writes the Introduction and Dorothy Wise, the author's daughter - writes afterward about her mother's life as a school teacher, etc. UNillustrated. Cond : Paper wrapper is magenta in colour with black lettering. Front cover has no graphics, but the back cover shows the author autographing copies when the book was first released. All edges lightly worn. Binding tight, colours bright. No names, marks, creases, nor tears. Excellent reading copy ! A largely forgotten gem of Canadian literature.
