En montrant plus d une quarantaine de peintures et principalement des paysages, l exposition qui est aussi la première exposition consacrée uniquement à l artiste hollandais depuis des décennies à Paris est une démonstration claire de l importance du Japonisme dans l art impressionniste. La confrontation avec Hiroshige grâce à ces deux expositions concomitantes est évidemment une première mondiale qui permet une confrontation d une précision incomparable.
