A committed moralist and aesthete at the same time, Willem Diepraam has long been an established name in European journalism and art photography circles, but remains virtually unknown in the United States. It is very boldly and beautifully signed, placed, and dated in black pen-marker on the half-title page by the photographer: "Willem Diepraam Chicago Jan. 19, 2002".
