A core aim of this volume is to contribute at an empirical level to knowledge about the intersection between children, migration, and mobilities by highlighting underresearched child and youth short-term and micro movements within major migration fluxes that occur in response to migration and global change. This collection positions this complex mobility-in-migration within individual, intergenerational, and collective migratory lifespan trajectories. Drawing together empirical research from around the globe, we see how in the lives of children and young people, migration and mobility intersect so that migration is not an end state but rather is one form of movement in lives characterized by multiple journeys, short, circular or seasonal migrations, and holiday and pleasure mobilities that are dynamic and often ongoing into the future. However, left-behind children of transnational migrant parents experience physical immobility/imaginative mobility in circumstances in which restrictive migratory regimes in the receiving country make family reunification extremely difficult. Chapters use multi-sited and/or multi-temporal and virtual methodologies as researchers follow their research subjects over time and space.

Prólogo Una mujer tiene la oportunidad de solicitar la modificación de su vulva y/o vagina por una variedad de razones. Los médicos en sus consultorios oyen hablar a sus pacientes tanto de motivos cosméticos y de autoestima, como de problemas funcionales. En cuanto a la vulva, el malestar se presenta por la aparición de ?colgajos? o las llamadas ?orejas de elefante? u otras protuberancias que sobrepasan los labios mayores; pueden experimentar inseguridad y angustia debido a una posible prominencia o deslizamiento de los labios hipertróficos, que sobresalen de la ropa interior tipo tanga o de los trajes de baño y que se comentan en las páginas web, blogs y/o en el consultorio. Las principales quejas funcionales que se escuchan en el consultorio médico son molestias por ?roces? durante actividades deportivas, sexuales y de otro tipo; incomodidad por ropa ajustada; necesidad de ?acomodar? los labios para la intimidad sexual, así como, dificultades higiénicas. Los labios mayores redundantes son descritos como ?colgantes? o las pacientes se sienten consternadas por la aparición del llamado ?cameltoe? (pata de camello). El aspecto sexual domina las quejas en relación al piso pélvico en las mujeres interesadas en un procedimiento de estrechamiento vaginal. Describen una ?sensación de vagina ancha/lisa? (un término popularizado por el Dr. Jack Pardo S. de Chile y el Dr. Adam Ostrzenski de los Estados Unidos) con una disminución secundaria de la fricción, menos sensibilidad y mayor dificultad para alcanzar el orgasmo a veces concomitante con una inconformidad con respecto a la apariencia visual del introito vaginal. La reducción del tamaño de los labios, (minoroplastia y/o mayoroplastia, LP-m; LP-M), la reducción de los pliegues clitoridianos redundantes, (RCH por sus siglas en inglés), la colporrafia/perineoplastia posterior (PP) y colporrafia/vaginoplastia anterior (VP), éstas dos últimas denominadas coloquialmente ?rejuvenecimiento vaginal? o VRJ por sus siglas en inglés, son procedimientos quirúrgicos genitales que se han incrementado y han sido objeto de atención tanto de la prensa como de investigadores y editores. Otro procedimiento plástico genital, la himenoplastia (HP), suele realizarse por razones religiosas y culturales, aunque en ocasiones es solicitado por las mujeres como un ?regalo? para su pareja sexual. Este texto es el primero en concentrarse en procedimientos plásticos y cosméticos específicamente diseñados para el confort, la autoestima y la sexualidad, en los procedimientos propiamente dichos, su justificación y riesgos y el conocimiento actual relacionado con los resultados, y se discute sobre consideraciones éticas y psicosexuales. Se hace hincapié en la importancia de un entrenamiento adecuado de los cirujanos en cirugía y medicina sexual, así como en los cambios anatómicos específicos y los resultados psicosexuales producidos por estos procedimientos. Se describen y definen los procedimientos quirúrgicos específicos. Este texto tiene especialmente la intención de familiarizar al ginecólogo, al cirujano plástico reconstructivo, al cirujano estético con una importante área de la anatomía femenina, la intensidad de su concentración y preocupación por la apariencia y función del área, así como la disponibilidad y posibles dificultades de los métodos, predominantemente quirúrgicos en la actualidad, diseñados para cumplir con sus propósitos. A truly…magnificent provenance for this work which "shows how the extension of military operations to civilian populations and property, and the increasingly destructive nature of total warfare, menace the very future of humanity and Western civilization. [This work] makes it clear how the [Nuremberg] war-crimes trials, far from curbing the barbarism of present-day warfare, will make it absolutely certain that every known form of destructiveness and mass-murder, however fiendish and devastating, will surely be brought forth in the desperate effort to avoid a defeat which, in all future wars, will mean the summary liquidation of the political leaders and top military officers of the vanquished countries." - dust jacket. As the most prominent spokesman for the America First Committee which sought to keep America out of WWII, Lindbergh most likely endorsed the conclusions of this book, first issued in England in 1948 under a nom de plume by Veale, "a lawyer and student of history with a lifelong interest in the cause of peace and international justice." - xi. On page vii Veale refers specifically to Barnes by stating "in accordance with what Dr. Harry Elmer Barnes has called 'The Historical Blackout,' the bulk of the British press, newspaper and periodical alike, rigidly ignored the [first edition of this book].
