Stapled Wraps. The book has yellowed with age, shelf stained and the head of the front cover is discoloured, and bumped at the head, which continues throughout the book. There is a pencil annotation on the title page which also carries 3 minor stains. Internally apart from a few pencil markings along the edge, the book is clean and the binding solid. Facing invasion during the time of the Drole de Guerre (the infamous "phony war") Cardial Verdier wrote a series of instructions and guiding principles for his followers and for France in general. While still advising on spiritual guidance during this very troubled time Verdier also was pragmatic, stating that France should also defend itself and fight for what was correct. The war would be anything but "phony" after France was invaded a few months later on 10 May. Verdier himself would die on 9 April 1940, aged 76.…
