Très curieuse publication, donnée entre le 3 janvier 1857, date à laquelle l'abbé Jean-Louis Verger assassina l'archevêque de Paris, Mgr Sibour, à Saint-Etienne-du-Mont, et le 30 janvier de la même année, où le même abbé fut guillotiné en cons…équence à la prison de la Roquette.Né à Neuilly-sur-Seine en 1826, Verger fut toujours un mauvais sujet multipliant les démêlés avec la justice ; mais c'est l'interdit porté contre lui par l'archevêque en raison de son opposition au nouveau dogme de l'Immaculée Conception qui semble l'avoir fait basculer dans la folie.Le texte reproduit ici par les soins du chanoine Firmin Vervorst (né en 1810, fondateur du Collège catholique d'Auteuil), est bien antérieur à l'assassinat de Mgr Sibour : daté du 1er juin 1845, donc antérieurement à l'ordination de Verger (1849), il forme une longue adresse au supérieur du Séminaire de Saint-Sulpice, en partie affective, en partie délirante, ce qui tend à accréditer le dérangement mental de l'intéressé. - - VENTE PAR CORRESPONDANCE UNIQUEMENT - LIEN DE PAIEMENT, NOUS CONSULTER.
