Linguistic research methods were used in this work. The combination of thematic, interpretative and comparative analyses provided new results and grounded conclusions which shed light on the genre specificity creation mechanism of the author's song. The English and Russian texts of the most famous and popular authors-songwriters are used as the material for the research. The results of the research are of theoretical significance and allow a broader understanding of the notion of 'author's song' in its modern interpretation. 64 pp. Englisch.
