The binding pages show some toning, light corner-wear. The binding is tight and the pages are clean. The lovely color illustrations by Si Vanderlaan can be found on every page. About Little Golden Books The Little Golden Books were printed in September 1942 and for sale in stores in October. One and a half million books were sold in just five months. With an initial series of twelve titles each having a print run of 50,000 copies, the first Little Golden Books were priced at a very affordable 25 cents each. Little Golden Books started with publishing firm Simon & Schuster; Western Printing and Lithographing Company in Racine, Wisconsin was Simon & Schuster's partner in the Little Golden Books venture, with Western handling print operations. This is a First Edition Little Golden Book . . . WITH the letter "A" - WITH a $.25 original price - WITH the "gold" spine - and in very good condition. Brave Eagle (book number 294) was written by Charles Spain Verral - was illustrated by Si Vanderlaan and published by Simon and Schuster in 1957. It appears to be a First Edition First Printing book since it has the "A" on the last page's lower right hand corner. It is 6 5/8" by 7 15/16" and has about 24 pages with hard cover laminated pictorial boards and full color nostalgic illustrations throughout. The book is in very good condition . . . despite all of the years that it's been in existence. Thank you!!
