This Antwerp initiative ran parallel with a Brussels project called ''Institut International de Bibliographie''. (Mundaneum). One of their aims was to form a collection with specimen of issues of all periodicals in every language. In their typical 19th century frame of mind this collection would certainly greatly advance science and society.
