Green decorative cloth boards with very minor rubbing to edges, minor scuffing/scratching. Contents generally clean and tight, but a lot of spotting/browning to title page, frontis + tissue guard, and back endpapers, plus minor spotting soiling elsewhere. Prize label dated 1881 inside front cover, owner's name to ffep. B&W illustrations by Paolo Priolo throughout. Biblical stories illustrating the life of St Paul. Hardcover. Condizione: Good. Hardback. No dust jacket. Bumping to spine ends and scuffing to boards. Binding strong and pages are bright.

Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condition of this book is remarkable, would display so well. Originally no doubt intended as a school prize (the crest on front represents Queen Elizabeth's Ipswich), it unusually has no presentation plate. It is bound in premium calf/leather, with ornate gilt letters and patterns and raised bands on spine. Red page edging is completely unworn, and endpapers marbled and virtually spotless. First few pages have a small stain running through them, and very slight creasing to edges. After that it is smart undamaged leaves throughout. Just to put the icing on the cake, the three maps near the back are still firmly attached and are complete, undamaged and have sharp creases and edges.
