Seminary x-lib stamp on top edge and at foot of title page, else no signs of being a library book: NO card pocket, NO call numbers or markings on lower spine. Book looks unused. Strong binding (NO creases); no previous owner names. Clean text. Solid copy.The way to read a theology collection more than 55 years old.

Clean and tightly bound with embossed and gilded imagery on the spine and the cover. Light shelf wear at spine ends and small spot on the fore edge. The frontispiece shows Darwin's illustration of insectivorous pl…ants. The contents show light wear and several scuffs on the rear endpapers, still very good. This copy is from a 19th Century private lending institution, the Mercantile Library of New York City. There are no external indications of the library's ownership. A handwritten number and Mercantile Library stamp are on the title page and some of the internal pages. A nice copy.
