Day Lewis has used the same metre he empl…oyed in his translation of the Georgics - a metre with six stresses to the line. The book is bound in the original green boards with silver titling on the spine. The book is in excellent condition and the contents are tight and clean with no inscription. The unclipped dustwrapper has some shelf wear and soiling and is slightly browned around the edges. The spine is sunned. The wrapper is in an easily removed clear plastic protective cover.
