Text and illustrations are printed on a very thick, 'cardstock' type of paper. This has held up quite well over the years and illustrations remain sharp. Binding is being to loosen in places. Previous owner's inscription on front free endpaper. Interior otherwise clean and unmarked, with bright, clean pages. Box is covered in gray paper, with red lettering and illustration on front. Corners of the box's top are split in poor condition, but is present and still houses book. A nice, illustrated copy of one of the Hoosier Poet's best-known poems.
