Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Near Fine. Exhibition publication. Text both in Finnish and English. Partially also in French and Swedish. Marti Aiha 27.9.2008-18.1.2009 at the Sara Hilden Art Museum. Aiha's early work at the turn of the 1970s and 80s includes self-portraits of male figures made of plaster and bamboo structures utilizing open space. The work of the 1980s and 1990s is characterized by a flame-like and ornamental design. In the 1990s, Aiha began to seek new artistic expression, first through painting. After that, in the late 1990s, new types of bronze sculptures with glass parts designed by the artist himself emerged. In the early 2000s, wood-turned structures were born, painted in bright acrylics. In these works one can see intersections with surreal and Dadaist influences. The material of the latest works in the exhibition is transparent plexiglass, which creates an abstract and intangible impression. *** Very light wear on the dust jacket, otherwise fine. 255 pp.

Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. This signed edition of Silence by Janne Laine is a deeply evocative art book that transports you into misty, meditative landscapes where memory and emotion mingle. Published in conjunction with his 2015 exhibition at the Tampere Art Museum, the book presents Laine's poetic world through his unique heliogravure prints - a technique that beautifully blurs the line between photography and printmaking. Janne Laine (b. 1970, Tampere, Finland) is a Finnish visual artist whose work sits at the intersection of photography and fine art printmaking. He travels widely to capture landscapes, but in his art he transforms them into universal, almost dreamlike visions. He uses an old heliogravure technique: first taking photographs, then transferring the images onto copper plates, etching them, and finally printing on textured paper - a process that gives his prints a soft, tactile, and deeply atmospheric quality. Laine has worked for many years as a master printer and artist, exhibiting his works around the world and merging his technical skill with a meditative, emotional sensibility. Published in connection with the exhibition at the Tampere Art Museum, January 17-April 26, 2015. Text in English and Finnish. 151 pp. Back cover has glue residue from price sticker. Signed by Author.
