De collectie bevat 32 emblemen (illustraties met bijschriften) en gedichten van verschillende invloedrijke Nederlandse en Franse dichters uit die tijd, waaronder Gerbrand Adriaensz. Bredero, Joost van den Vondel, Roemer Visscher, Daniel Heinsius en Pierre de Ronsard. Bredero schreef de Nederlandse bijschriften voor alle 32 emblemen. Dit exemplaar is een facsimile uitgave van de derde druk van 1620.
