This book presents an in-depth analysis of a newly constructed mausoleum in Rome, which is dedicated to Archduchess Maria Christina of Austria. The author, an esteemed art connoisseur, combines historical research with artistic commentary to provide a comprehensive understanding of this architectural masterpiece. The monument is a remarkable example of neoclassical sculpture, designed as an Egyptian-style pyramid adorned with exquisite allegorical figures and bas-reliefs. Through a detailed examination of the mausoleum's iconography and symbolism, the book explores themes of mortality, virtue, and the afterlife in Christian art and provides a fascinating glimpse into the life and legacy of the Archduchess. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
