[23.3 x 31 cm] - Cover sl. worn along the extrimities; spine worn; plates with some occasional foxing. - Unfortunately, this copy is missing the coloured plate of the horse Amouranth.A rare work with beautiful horse portraits from the famous Arabian breeding program of the kings of Württemberg. In addition to nine (of ten !) coloured horse portraits of the most famous Arabian mares and stallions bred in Wuerttemberg (Amourath, Zafir [original Arabian stallion], Koheil, Kereja, Sovereign, Emperor, Milo, Bellfoundre, Ardana, Volusia & Serenade), five tinted plates show the Marbach stud farm, the remount in Leonberg, the cold market in Ellwangen, the mare inspection in Rottweil, and the horse exhibition in Waldsee. The prints are drawn from life and lithographed by Ludwig Voltz (1825-1911) and Emil Volckers (1831 - 1905). The often missing map is also included. # Nissen, 4741. Cf.
