Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Acceptable. First Edition. An early copy, and possibly a first printing, ca. 1910 or earlier judging from red ink on dust jacket and the lack of a copyright page. No date is given for the printing, though colophon reads "Letchworth / The Temple Press / Printers." Detailed gilt tooling on spine remains fairly bright. Wear to the ends and corners is mild. Binding is sound, though showing a little at the last gathering (p. 311). Text appears very good+. DJ is printed with red ink, list of titles on flaps and interior. Spine is darkened beyond legibility. Large chips, tears, and creases affect front, rear, and spine of jacket, which is now protected in Mylar wraps. This title is very scarce with the jacket.
