The Royal Berkshire Regiment gained Battle Honours during the Napoleonic and Peninsular Wars 1808-1814, the War of 1812, the Chinese Opium War 1840-1843, the Crimean War 1854-1856, the 2nd Afghan War in 1879-1880, campaigns in Egypt in 1882 and the Sudan in 1885 and The Boer War. They were also dispatched to America in the early years of the American Revolutionary War. They were victorious in their first battle against the Americans -- the night battle at Brandywine Creek (1777).
