Duncan Hannah was a key figure in the burgeoning New York underground arts scene, befriending Andy Warhol and his superstars, Lou Reed, Allen Ginsberg, Patti Smith, Salvador Dali, and many others. A graduate of the Pa…rsons School of Design, his paintings were exhibited in the influential 1980 Times Square Show alongside work by Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat, and several of his paintings are held in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Based on the 1959 novel by John Hersey. The hotshot commander of a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress bomber lives for the most dangerous missions, and acts as though he may have a death wish. Shot on location in Cabridge, Bovingdon, and Kent, England. 10 x 8 inches. One Near Fine, the other Very Good plus, with creasing and tape residue at the bottom left corner.

Wagner of the University of Texas at Austin. Wagner was brought into Texas' renowned center for genetics by J.T. Patterson, who served as his mentor. The ma…jority of the papers concern his important research and experimentation with Neurospora crassa, a model organism in biochemical genetics. Wagner is the co-author of four books, the first of which, Genetics and Metabolism (1955), was the "first major synthesis and summary of the emerging field of biochemical genetics and was an important influence worldwide, being translated into several languages and used extensively as a textbook" ("In memoriam, Robert Wagner" available at the UT Austin web-page). Twelve reference photographs from the film bound in variously among the script pages. Jerry Wald is best remembered for his long and successful association with Warner Brothers as both a screenwrite…r and producer of a number of notable films, including "Mildred Pierce" (1945), "Humoresque" (1946), "Key Largo" (1948), and "Flamingo Road" (1949). In the 1950s he moved to Twentieth Century-Fox, and was the producer there for "An Affair to Remember" (1957), "Peyton Place" (1957), and "Sons and Lovers" (1960). Based on Anton Myrer's 1957 novel "The Big War," about three Marines on shore leave in San Francisco, each faced with their own relationships and heartaches. Bound in light blue cloth with navy quarter leather binding, with five raised bands and gilt titles on the spine. Title page present, dated June 16, 1958, noted as Shooting Final, with credits for screenwriter Edward Anhalt and novelist Anton Myrer. 157 leaves, with last page of text numbered 115. Mimeograph duplication on eye-rest green stock, rectos only, with blue revision pages throughout, dated variously between 6/18/58 and 7/31/58, with twelve additional pink and blue revision pages bound in at the rear of the text. Faint foxing on the photograph edges, else pages Near Fine, binding Near Fine.
