Une expression que l'on a beaucoup répétée devant une photo de mode ou une photo d'art. Ay…ant un effet visuel très marquant, les notions picturales qui ont été exprimées dans les photos de mode se résument dans les éléments qui caractérisent la peinture des autres expressions plastiques. En réalité, il faut se tourner vers une vieille relation qui était entre la peinture et la photographie d'art à ses débuts. Une relation d'influence et d'attachement, vu que la majorité des photographes dits plasticiens ont été des peintres avant d'expérimenter cette nouvelle technique à des fins artistiques et plastiques. En effet, cette relation se manifeste clairement dans le mouvement du pictorialisme qui avait pour ambition d¿inscrire photographie au rang d¿art, en s¿inspirant des peintres impressionnistes. Ces pictorialistes ont « exposé leurs théories fondées sur un refus de l¿agrandissement et de la netteté et cherchant le flou de l¿image afin de donner un meilleur rendu de la perception».

Un visuel qui possède un caractère pictural. D'ailleurs, c'est ce qui nous… a poussés à mener cette recherche. Ce rapprochement se manifeste dans la représentation du corps, de sa pose et de son rapport avec le fond qui sont empruntés, dans la plupart des cas, à la peinture. Le jeu d'ombre et de lumière ainsi que le flou pictural représentent aussi les notions qu'a empruntées la photographie de mode à la peinture. D'une façon générale, la photo de mode a été influencée par les notions qui caractérisent la peinture et qui la distinguent par rapport aux autres formes d'expressions plastiques. C'est le rendu visuel qui est cherché et qui doit faire de la photo un 'tableau de peinture'. La photo de mode n'est réellement qu'une représentation du mannequin mise en scène dans un décor précis et dans une pose réfléchie et théâtralisée. Ce qui nous intéresse dans notre recherche, c'est la manière avec laquelle le photographe représente son mannequin dans ses photos ; y a t il une influence picturale à propos cette représentation 56 pp. Französisch.
