Walker Manufacturing Company. Madam C.J. Walker, born Sarah Breedlove, died in 1919, but her company continued to operate until 1981. The Madam C.J. Walker Manufacturing Company, headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, was incorporated in 1910 by its namesake and sold African American cosmetic and hair care products.
