Splitting at flap joints with light toning to verso. An important collection of ballad poems by Walker, a participant in the Black Chicago Renaissance. With this book she became the first African American woman to win the Yale Younger Poets award. She participated in the WPA Writer's Project in Chicago and would have a distinguished teaching career while writing poetry and novels. Signed.
