Als ein als Zufallsgenerator… eingesetzter Gegenstand findet er schon seit dem Mittelalter bei Spielen Verwendung und kann als äußerst vielseitiges und dennoch handhabbares Spielelement bei Sprachlernspielen im DaFZ-Unterricht benutzt werden. Bei den folgenden Ausführungen handelt es sich hauptsächlich um die Analyse des Würfels bzw. seines Einsatzes beim Spielen im DaFZ-Unterricht.Im DaFZ-Unterricht kommt gelegentlich Langeweile auf, die sowohl die Motivation der Lernenden als auch den Lernprozess negativ beeinflusst. Als Ursache dafür werden u. a. das Vermittlungsproblem, der mangelnde Sinnbezug und die Zwanghaftigkeit (Fichten 1993: 132) genannt. Als lustbetonte Tätigkeit sind Spiele eine der Möglichkeiten, die Langeweile zu bremsen.Spielen assoziiert man immer mit Vergnügen und Entspannung, es könnte somit als etwas dem ernsten Lernen vollkommen Gegensätzliches aufgefasst werden. Allerdings kann man auch eine Win-Win-Situation bekommen, wenn man das Spiel beim Sprachlernen richtig einsetzt. Solche Spiele sind nicht mehr nur lustbetont und zweckfrei, sondern sie richten sich auch auf ein bestimmtes Lernziel beim Fremdsprachenlernen. Es wird in der vorliegenden Arbeit erläutert, wie sich Kognition und Emotion im Spiel vereinigen und wie man angemessene Spiele unter Berücksichtigung der Lernperspektive auswählt.In den letzten Jahrzehnten wurden unterschiedliche Sprachlernspiele im DaFZ-Unterricht eingeführt, wie etwa Ratespiel, Rollenspiel, Wechselspiel, die nicht nur die Lernenden motivieren und ihre Interaktionen verstärken, sondern es ihnen außerdem ermöglichen, die Sprache unter angenehmen Umständen zu erwerben.
