Printed on heavy, premium velin d'Arches 250g art paper. Binding: Loose as issued in original wrappers, housed in the original custom slipcase by Atelier Dermont-Duval. Explicitly hand-signed in pencil by both Jacques Guimet and Annie Warnier on the colophon page. Features contemporary French poetry by Guimet accompanied by 7 original, hand-pulled master prints by Warnier. The colophon titles the prints as: la lettre, le portique, la mère, conception, jardin souterrain, la cité, and dehors. Typography: Composed in Méridien corps 14 and letterpress printed by Michael Caine at the Atelier de la Cerisaie in Paris. Housed in its original custom-crafted slipcase (coffret) built by the renowned Atelier Dermont-Duval. Printing officially completed on May 22, 1995. Text in French. A scarce and complete artifact of modern French fine-press printmaking. Contents in pristine, Fine condition. The heavy velin d'Arches text pages, all 7 original art prints, and the protective tissue guards remain crisp and clean. The original custom cloth slipcase shows only light external wear and a few minor handling marks to the exterior panels. This copy is Number 9 of only 115 standard commercial copies, from a total global print run strictly limited to 150 copies across all tiers (including 15 deluxe copies, 11 artist proofs, 8 hors commerce copies, and 1 copy reserved for the Bibliothèque Nationale). Printed on luxurious, heavy papier vélin de Rives. Includes the authentic, hand-written copy number and signature of Annie Warnier in pencil on the colophon page. The text features the tragic, legendary Spanish ballad La Terre d'Alvargonzález by the celebrated Generation of '98 poet Antonio Machado. Extracted from his masterpiece collection Champs de Castille (Campos de Castilla), translated into French by Sylvie Sesé-Léger and Bernard Sesé. With drypoint engravings (pointes-sèches) and aquatints (aquatintes) on copper by Warnier, hand-pulled by master intaglio printer Patrick Degouy at his workshop in Issy-les-Moulineaux. Typography designed after a layout mockup by Warnier; foundry type by Gerbaud letterpress printed by Robert Blanchet at Boulogne-sur-Seine. Housed in the original protective casing (emboîtage) custom-crafted by the Parisian binder Atelier Duval. Printing officially completed on October 23, 1986. Text in French and Spanish. A scarce and highly collectible artifact representing the intersection of 20th-century Spanish literature and master French printmaking. The loose plates and text sheets are in pristine, Fine condition.
