The text features the tragic, legendary Spanish ballad La Terre d'Alvargonzález by the celebrated Generation of '98 poet Antonio Machado. Extracted from his masterpiece collection Champs de Castille (Campos de Castilla), translated into French by Sylvie Sesé-Léger and Bernard Sesé. With drypoint engravings (pointes-sèches) and aquatints (aquatintes) on copper by Warnier, hand-pulled by master intaglio printer Patrick Degouy at his workshop in Issy-les-Moulineaux.
