His passion was to expand the knowledge and use of effective technology of speech beyond the university audience. The 1st edition of this work appeared in 1927 and more editions were published after his death. Herbert Francis de Bower, LL.B. (1873-1940) was thrust into developing businesses in Europe following his service in US Army during WWI. Among the businesses he founded and governmental offices he held, he co-founded the Alexander Hamilton Institute which provided training in law and business. He was noted as author of books on salesmanship and advertising. Hardcover set has red leatherette cloth boards with gilt lettering and ornamentation on front and spine, but no DJs. Carefully handled with square corners and sound gutters, the set appears unread. Minor shelf-wear. Contents appears complete with no markings in text nor ownership in end papers.
