Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Stated First Edition with Number Line to 1. Signed and inscribed on the half-title page: 'To David, All my best! Tom Watson'. See photo. You can see the covers of the book in the photos. They are very clean. The silver lettering on the spine is n…icely bright. There's some minor wear, a crease just above the front and rear bottom corners, a little crinkling at the top edge of the spine, a light vertical (sort of) crease or raised line on the front, and a small thin indent on the rear covers middle edge, none of it particularly significant. The corners are in very good shape. The page edges are exceptionally clean. I don't see any soiling. The white inside covers and endpapers are also perfectly clean. The book is very solidly bound with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The rear cover is actually a little extra tight at its juncture which causes it to bow out just a little bit. The interior of the book is in very good condition. The pages are exceptionally clean. Scrolling through, I'm not finding any instances of soiling. The white inside covers and end papers are also perfectly clean. I'm not seeing any placeholder creases. There is a light, vague semi-crease just off the bottom corner of a number of pages, not very conspicuous. There are no markings in the book. No attachments. And the signed inscription is the only writing to be found anywhere. There are color photographs on most of the pages. They're all in excellent condition. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. It looks perfectly clean. It has only a little bit of wear, again a bit of creasing just above the bottom corners, also off the top edge of the spine. The flaps are in excellent condition, perfectly clean, a tiny crease at the rear flap's bottom corner just adjacent to the middle edge. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. It will be fitted with a large protective cover after the photos are scanned. From the dust jacket: 'Golf is timeless. But most golfers' swings are not. Tom Watson, one of the true legends of the game, reveals the techniques behind the swing that has kept him a champion for more than four decades. The Timeless Swing is illustrated with stunning photographs by award-winning Golf Digest photographer Dom Furore, and Watson carefully draws the reader's eye to what is essential in each photo, providing the kind of easy-to-understand guidance usually found only in private lessons.'. Dom Furore (illustratore). Inscribed by Author(s).

Hardcover. Condizione: Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Fair. 1st Edition. Stated First Edition. First Printing with as Random House does; number line: 98765432. Good Hardcover 191 pages, in a price-clipped dustjacket edgechippe with a couple of open tears on the back(see pic). Anthony Ravielli illustrations. Two Father's Day gif…t inscriptions on the first free endpaper. (both very sweet) "A guide to the most difficult and important shots in golf and how to score well from forty yards and in. 118,000 sold to date. Today's most successful golfer-twice Masters champion and winner of the U.S Open and five British Opens-has now written a book on the most challenging and imporant aspects of the game-from the forty--yard wedge to the three-foot putt, from sand play to chips and pitches, both the basic and the intricate shots. Tom Watson's guide addresses the problems that all golfers, whether pros or just beginners, face dozens of times in every round. As all golfers know, in the 982 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach, Tom Watson holed out a seemingly impossible chip on the 17th hole to break a tie with Jack Nicklaus and win the championship. In Getting Up and Down, Watson explains how he made this spectacular shot, and shows you how to think about and execute a wide variety of strokes, form the "easy" ones to those that seem nearly impossible. As Watson's instruciton proves, even a high-handicapper can manage without disaster. No one can get up and down all the time, but those who study this book will know how to in almost any situation. By applying Watson's lessons to your own game, you can hope to lower your score by 5 to 10 percent, no matter how well you play.".
