Aggiungi al carrelloFirst Edition. 8vo. 15 pp. Edited by Rev. Francis J. Weber, Archivist Archdiocese of Los Angeles, California; Preface by Paul V. Murray. Stiff green printed wrappers in near fine condition (age-toning along edges and spine). Uncommon. Among Mexico's most colorful churchmen in the early decade of this century was the widely-known and highly-respected Francisco Orozco Y. Jumenez (1864 1936), late Archbishop of Guadalajara. The meaning of APOLOGIA PRO VITA SUA is defense of one's life - a written justification for one's beliefs or course of conduct. This memorandum written by Archbishop Francisco Orozco Y. Jumenez at Chicago in October, 1929 sketches the background of the arreglo or pact whereby President Portes Gil and his government pledged to mitigate Federal anticlericalism.…
