xii, 209p., illustrated with b&w photoreproductions in no less than three insert sections, hardbound first edition in 8.5x6 inch in mustard-yellow cloth boards gilt and glossy dust jacket. the ffep bears a neat ownership presentation inscription, the dj is slightly edgeworn, a very good copy. A caveat emptor, should one be looki…ng for good photos, these are good and unusual but --badly reproduced. One caption reads ".Mt Fuji in the background" but there can be seen no trace of it. Wedderburn was no visitor, he was born in China, took his MD in Scotland and returned. The Japanese occupation and the Mao revolution were substantial parts of his life; a literate man who did not lose touch with Brit culture.
