Anne Anderson was a renowned Scottish illustrator best known for her Art Nouveau style, which is on full display here. 123 pages. A FIRST EDITION, likely first printing, from 1937, this oversized hardcover (10.5' x 14") had front & rear decorative paper pastedowns over quarter black cloth-covered boards. Condition is Good+: generally quite clean with a few random external soil spots. Heavy rubbing to extremities with slight loss at bottom edges & all corners, heaviest along rear fore edge side. Interior pages are moderately tanned, quite heavily around edges, but completely unmarked save for former owner's name in pen to ffep. Sewn binding is strong & straight, hinges secure but rear one is starting. The 8 plates are glorious with .5-1" of tanning around edges. No DJ (missing).
