Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the science of turbidity, a measure of the cloudiness of a liquid. By tracing the development of turbidity standards, the author reveals the complexities of measuring this property. The text uncovers the challenges in accurately quantifying turbidity using the platinum wire method, demonstrating its limitations and inconsistencies. The discussion extends to the optical principles underlying turbidity measurement, providing a deeper understanding of the underlying phenomena. The exploration of intensity methods highlights their advantages in sensitivity and precision. Through a comprehensive analysis of experimental data, the book exposes the lack of uniformity in current turbidity standards, emphasizing the need for precise and reliable references. Ultimately, this book provides valuable insights into the science of turbidity measurement, its historical evolution, and the ongoing efforts to establish accurate and consistent standards for water analysis. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
