The condition of both books is near fine. Dark blue cloth-covered boards are clean, gold text is clear. Head and tail of spine on both volumes are creased. Volume I's d…ust jacket spine is sunned; fore-edge folds are also lightly sunned. The head and tail of the jacket spine are creased and the spine corners are chipped with small closed tears. The lower back right corner has a 3/8" closed vertical tear along the edge. The fore-edge corners are rubbed with loss of 1/5" or less. Volume II's dust jacket spine is also sunned as are the fore-edge folds. Head and tail of jacket spine are creased, head of spine has a 3/8" closed vertical tear in the center and the upper front spine corner has a 1/4" closed vertical tear. There is a 1/3" by 1/2" v-shaped notch in the upper left corner of the front jacket panel. There is a 2 5/8" by 1" stain along the lower half of the front fore-edge fold. There are a series of irregular (connected) closed tears on the lower front right corner; 3" running diagonally from the lower front right corner up toward the left, then an adjacent irregular diagonal closed tear of 1 3/4 running upward toward the right, then an adjacent 1 3/8" vertical closed tear along the fore-edge fold. A previous tape repair can be seen on the reverse side photo. The lower front and back edges are creased. Lower back left corner of jacket has a 2/5" closed vertical tear on the edge, with adjacent creases. The two volume contains "a narrative and pictorial account of Hampton Roads Port of Embarkation during World War II". which is edited by Major Wheeler. Please use close-up options for best inspection and in support of condition description. Additional photos available at your request.
